Getting StartedThis getting started page will guide you through the the following procedures:
Follow the steps below. Documents and videos are provided for additional details and demonstration. A full manual can be downloaded by going to the Support menu and then the User Guides/Tutorials menu. Return to this getting started page after completion of each step.Please check that your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements [Hardware Requirements]Step 1: Install WMDC or ActiveSyncGuru 4 Utility uses Microsoft ActiveSync technology to synchronize your Guru 4 data with the Golf Guru Servers. Follow the steps below to choose and then install the correct version of software for your computer. PCs running Windows Vista or Windows 7If your PC is running Windows Vista or Windows 7, your synchronization settings will be managed through the Windows Mobile Device Center. Be sure to select the correct version, either 32-bit or 64-bit.
PCs running Windows XP or earlierIf your PC is running Windows XP, or earlier, your synchronization settings will be managed through Microsoft ActiveSync.Step 2: Download and run the Setup Wizard for the Guru Utility
Click on the Windows icon to install the Guru utility to a Windows PC.
If you use Internet Explorer choose run when presented with the option to run or save the Guru Setup program. For other internet browsers such as Firefox save the Guru Setup program to your desktop. After the Setup program has been downloaded to your computer launch the Setup program. Step 3: Create a Golf Guru account and register your Guru
Click on the Guru Utility short cut on your desktop to launch the Guru Utility
Start the Guru Utility from the icon on your desktop. Turn on your Guru 4 and make sure to not have the Golf Guru software running during the sync process. Once the Guru 4 has been turned on and showing either the Application Guru or Programs screen, connect the USB cable to your Guru 4 and your computer if you haven't done so already. When the Guru Utility detects the Guru 4 you will be presented with a login dialog box. If you've purchased your Guru 4 from the On-Pin on-line store use the email address and password you used to make your purchase. If not, enter your current email address and a password, and a Golf Guru account will automatically be created for you. You will use this email address and password when you run the Guru Utility in the future. Your new Guru will now be registered to this account. Step 4: Select CoursesIf you haven't done so already login to the On-Pin website and then click on the Manage Guru menu item. There you will find a link, To add courses to this device please click here, that will allow you to search for courses and add them to your Guru's course list. Step 5: Sync your GuruAfter you have made your course additions and selections it is now time to download those choices to your Guru. The Guru Utility should still be running on your computer from Step 2 above. If not just launch the Guru Utility from the short cut on your desktop. With the Guru connected to the USB cable, Guru Utility running you should now be able to press the Sync button to download course selections to your Guru. When the sync process is finished you will be notified in the output window of the Guru Utility. Use the safely remove hardware feature in windows to prepare the Guru to be disconnected from the USB cable and then disconnec the USB cable when windows notifies you or you see the "Please connect your Guru!"in the Guru ID: field in the Guru Utility information area. Connecting Your Guru: Connect your Golf Guru to your computer using the USB cable provided.The large end of the USB cable plugs into your computer. The small end of the USB cable plugs into the bottom right side of your Golf Guru.
